Nicholas Mayer (born September 13, 1989 ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

Mayer started playing football at SV Austria Salzburg at the age of six and played there in all age groups. After taking over Red Bull, he stayed with the club and played in the U-19 BNZ team. When in 2008 his coach and mentor Gerhard Stöger was dismissed as coach of the BNZ U-19 and was appointed sports director at SV Austria Salzburg , which had been newly founded three years earlier , he did not hesitate and brought Mayer to Maxglan. Mayer was able to assert himself straight away and celebrated one success after another with Salzburger Austria. In the first meeting between Austria and Red Bull on November 13, 2010, he was expelled in the 40th minute due to assault. The derby between Austria Salzburg and the Red Bull Juniors ended 2-2. After Mayer made promotion to the First League with Austria , he made his professional debut on matchday 2 in 2015/16 against SK Austria Klagenfurt . With Austria he had to return to the regional league after just one season.
