Nick Heyward
Nick Heyward (born May 20, 1961 in Beckenham , Kent) is an English musician.
Career
Nick Heyward was the singer and founding member of the new wave group Haircut 100 , which was successful beyond England with their debut album Pelican West . But at the height of the band's success, he went into business for himself. His first solo album North of a Miracle was released just a year after the breakthrough . With that he reached the top 10 in his home country and gold status. In addition, three songs made it into the top 15 of the single charts. After that, his success was limited to a few smaller single hits until the end of the 1980s.
There was little international interest in Heyward. It was only with his comeback album From Monday to Sunday in 1993 that he had two smaller hits with Kite and He Doesn't Love You Like I Do in the USA and Germany. After another album, however, it became quiet around him. It wasn't until 2017 that he returned to the British charts with the album Woodland Echoes .
