Randalica is a heavy metal band from Dortmund .

history

The band was first reported in October 1993 in the music magazine Rock Hard as part of a parody supplement entitled Rock Fart . The original report on the then fictional band described Randalica's style as hardcore punk and parodied the common genre clichés.

In the following years , however, the editorial team received inquiries about the fictional publications, especially about the single Tote auffe dance floor . Since the band had been a pure fantasy product until then, rock-hard publisher Holger “Ömmes” Stratmann and editor-in-chief Götz “Sir Pommes” Kühnemund decided to record songs under the name “Randalica”. With the participation of Bobby "Doppelbob" Schottkowski from Sodom , the said single and the album Knast, Tod or Rock 'n' Roll were created , on which the two newly-written cover versions make Tore ( Breaking The Law by Judas Priest ) and Come on, feel the noise ( Cum on Feel the Noize by Slade ) was included. Pete Wells from Rose Tattoo also played a guitar solo as a guest . The album found its way into regular trade via the Steamhammer label, a subsidiary of SPV , and musically did not point in the originally stated hardcore direction, but more in line with the style of classic heavy metal.

In 1995 Randalica took a cover of Sodom classic Outbreak of Evil by the name of the outbreak of evil with German text on which on the Sodom tribute album Homage to the Gods and the limited edition of the 1999 Sodom album Code Red is found . Randalica did not undertake any further studio activities afterwards. In issue 200 of Rock Hard in December 2003, a big story about Randalica was published as part of the reporting on the magazine's 20th anniversary. a. the tragic circumstances of their fictional “Wir-sind-wech!” farewell concert were explained.

At the Rock-Hard-Festival 2006 Randalica completed a short reunion appearance in the original line-up after the concert by Sodom and reviewed the well-known songs. The reason for this was that due to the short-term cancellation of the Celtic Frost appearance, the scheduled season had become free. Randalica were also supported by the two Sodom members Bobby "Doppelbob" Schottkowski and Bernemann. In 2006, on the limited edition of the best-of CD Kein Blick zurück by In Extremo, a cover version of the title Nur ihr alone with new text, which was contributed by Randalica, was released.
