Nico Abegglen (born February 16, 1990 ) is a Swiss football player who is under contract with SC Brühl St. Gallen in the Promotion League .


At the age of twelve, Nico Abegglen moved from his former club FC Staad to the offspring of FC St. Gallens. There he went through every stage of the youth and now he plays in the first team of FC St. Gallens.

Nico Abegglen began his football career at FC St. Gallen, where he made his debut in the then Axpo Super League during the 2007/08 season. Even in the 2008/09 season he did not make the breakthrough and only received four appearances. Abegglen finally became an important player in the 2009/10 season when he scored seven goals for St. Gallen in the Super League in 27 games. Nevertheless, Abegglen continued to be used only sporadically. On February 25, 2013, his contract was terminated in order to enable the immediate transfer to FC Vaduz in the Challenge League .
