Nicola Behrend

Nicola Behrend (born February 10, 1962 ) is a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Social Court .

After completing her legal training in 1989, Behrend joined the judicial service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia . After serving as a judge at the Dortmund Social Court, she was seconded to the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1995 , where she worked in the specialist department for children, youth and family. In January 1997, Behrend was appointed judge at the regional social court. Here she was responsible, among other things, for the law of pension insurance , long-term care insurance , social assistance and statutory health insurance .

On January 1, 2008, Behrend was appointed judge at the Federal Social Court. She was the 7./8. Senate, which is responsible for the law of unemployment insurance as well as for the law of social assistance and the law for asylum seekers.
