Nicola De Rinaldo

Nicola De Rinaldo (born January 24, 1942 in Naples ) is an Italian documentary filmmaker , film director and screenwriter .

Life

De Rinaldo had been working as a film amateur since 1965 and came to his work for television via short films and an assistant at Tinto Brass , where he made numerous documentaries, often in montage style. Among his most famous works of this form are Storie di vita: Un paese ei suoi emigranti , Obiettivo sud and Il caso Alfa Sud . In 1985 he directed a full-length film for the first time. L'amara scienza premiered on television; The rarely shown but highly praised Giallo Il manoscritto di Van Hecken was not completed until fourteen years later . In 2002, La vita degli altri, his last film to date, was released.
