Nicolas "Nico" Dewalque (born September 20, 1945 in Zichen-Zussen-Bolder , Flanders , Belgium ) is a former Belgian football player .

Career

Dewalque started playing soccer in his hometown of Zichen. In 1963 he moved to Standard Liège , where he won the Belgian championship three times in a row from 1969 to 1971. By 1976 he played for Standard 376 league games, in which he scored 24 goals. He then moved to local rivals RFC Liège for three years , where he ended his career in 1979.

National team

Dewalque took part in the World Cup in Mexico in 1970 and was eliminated there with the Belgian team in the preliminary round. Between 1967 and 1975 he played 33 international matches for the "Red Devils", in which he did not score.
