Nicolas Lorgne , also Nicolaus Lorgius, Nicholaus Lezgne, Nicholas de Lorgne († 1284 ) was the 21st Grand Master of the Order of St. John from 1277 until his death .

After the 10-year peace treaty with the Mamluks, concluded in 1271 as part of the Seventh Crusade , ended in 1281, they again launched raids on Christian territory in Syria. When such an army came plundering near the Johanniter Castle Margat , it was surprised and defeated by an army of the Johanniter. In revenge for this defeat, the Mamluk Sultan dispatched an army of 5,000 men under the command of Balban al Tabbakhi against Margat in the same year , which was supposed to conquer the fortress. The Hospitallers succeeded in luring the advancing enemy army into an ambush near Margat and defeating them, despite their own numerical documentation. As early as 1269 and 1270, attacks by the Mamluks on Margat had been repulsed.
