Nicolas Pethes

Nicolas Pethes (* 1970 ) is a German literary scholar.

Life

He completed his studies (1990–1996) with a doctorate in 1998 and a habilitation in 2005 at the University of Cologne . From 1998 to 2003 he researched and taught at the Universities of Siegen , Cologne and Stanford . From 2003 to 2007 he headed the Emmy-Noether junior research group on the cultural history of human experimentation at the University of Bonn . From 2005 to 2009 he taught as a professor for European literature and media history at the FernUniversität in Hagen . From 2009 to 2014 he was Professor of Modern German Literature at the Ruhr University in Bochum . Since 2014 he has been Professor of Modern German Literature at the University of Cologne.
