Nicolas Spierinck

Nicolas Spierinck († 1500 or 1501 in Ghent ) was a Flemish illuminator and scribe who was active between 1455 and 1499 . One of the works ascribed to him is the inscription of the Book of Hours of Mary of Burgundy . He studied medicine at Louvain University , later changed his profession, became a scribe and illuminator and moved to Ghent, where he found success and wealth. It is known that he worked with Lieven van Lathem and the Master of Mary of Burgundy on the prayer book, the book of hours .
