Nicole Galloway (born June 13, 1982 in St. Louis , Missouri ) is an American Democratic Party politician and State Auditor of the State of Missouri since 2015 . She is running for governor of Missouri in 2020 and is currently the only state-elected Democrat in Missouri.

Life

Galloway was named the new State Auditor of Missouri on April 27, 2015 after Tom Schweich's death by Governor Jay Nixon . In the election as State Auditor on November 6, 2018, she prevailed with 50.4 percent against her Republican rival Saundra McDowell, who reached 44.6 percent. Galloway is the elected auditor of her home state until 2023.

After Claire McCaskill was voted out of office as Senator for Missouri, she is the future hope of the Democrats there. On August 9, 2019, she announced that she would run for governor in Missouri in 2020 against incumbent Mike Parson . On August 4, 2020, she was officially nominated as the Democratic candidate for governor.

Nicole Galloway is married with three children, and lives in Columbia .
