Nicole Schreyer (born February 5, 1977 in Kufstein ) is a former Austrian politician ( GREEN ) and biologist . She was a member of the Austrian Federal Council from 2013 to 2018 .

education and profession

Nicole Schreyer first attended the Unterlangkampfen elementary school, the BG / BRG Kufstein and the St. Johann in Tirol tourism school and completed an apprenticeship as a forwarding agent. She then passed the Matura in Innsbruck and subsequently studied biology from 1998 at the University of Vienna , where she completed her studies in 2004 with the academic degree Mag. Rer. nat. completed. During her studies she focused on ecology and aquatic biology and wrote her thesis at BOKU Vienna on the subject of fish migration.

Between January and September 2006, during the Austrian EU Council Presidency, Schreyer worked for the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Culture and between September 2006 and the end of October 2007 he was an official expert for aquatic biology at the Office of the Lower Austrian Provincial Government. She then worked from November 2007 to the end of November 2008 as a program manager for Life Sciences and project manager for the Life Sciences Cluster at the Tyrolean Future Foundation (later: Location Agency Tyrol) and then from December 2008 to the end of April 2010 as the head of the Alpine program at WWF Austria . From May 2010 until end of February 2011, she worked as an environmental consultant in Green parliamentary group Vienna, where she between March 2011 and February 2013 on leave , was then from March 2013 to October 2018 reserve supervisor of the nature reserve Kaiser Mountains.

Schreyer has been Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and board member of Vier Pfoten International since February 2019 .

Politics and functions

In 2011 Schreyer was elected a member of the regional board of the Green Tyrol and in 2012 took over the function of the district spokeswoman for the Green Kufstein. From 2009 to 2013 she was a state committee delegate of the Green Women in Tyrol. She was elected Federal Councilor by the state parliament on May 24, 2013. From November 2015 Schreyer was parliamentary group leader of the Greens parliamentary group, since December 2017 Schreyer was parliamentary group chairman of the federal executive committee of the Austrian Greens. After the state elections in Tyrol in 2018 , she left the Federal Council.

Private

Schreyer is married and has a son (* 2011) and a daughter (* 2014).
