The Lower Barracks was a military barracks of the Bundeswehr in Dörverdener district Barme in Verden .
Until the 1930s, the Heisenhof , actually known as the Drübberanlage , existed here . Then the was here until the war ended investment Weser the Eibia GmbH for chemical products .
A barracks was built in 1958 on the site of the former ammunition factory, in which a total of up to 4,000 soldiers were stationed; Among others, the Panzergrenadierbataillon 71, the Panzerbataillon 33, the engineer battalions 120 and 11, the Panzerpionierkompanie 320, the rocket artillery battalion 32, the escort battery 3 and the transport battalion 11 as well as a 552nd US Army Artillery Group of the US Army, which defeat the service nuclear weapons on the site ammunition guarded. Closure and re-use
The Bundeswehr location was closed on September 30, 2003. As a result, the district lost almost a third of its inhabitants. The Heisenhof was sold to the Wilhelm Tietjen Foundation for Fertilization . The Wolf Center Wildlife Park was opened in April 2010 on another part of the site .
The barracks were demolished in 2012/2013. A part of the site was bought by the HF Wiebe company in order to set up a system for parking vehicles.
