Lower Silesian Heath
The Lower Silesian Heide , often Niederschlesisch-Lausitz Heath called ( Polish Bory Dolnośląskie , Silesian Niederschläsche Heede ) is a nature reserve on both sides of the German - Polish border.
The Muskauer Heide is part of the Lower Silesian Heath , over 2000 km² large, largely closed forest area between the Sprotte in the east and the Schwarzen Elser in the west, crossed by the rivers Bober , Queis , Großer and Kleiner Tschirne , Lausitzer Neisse and Spree .
The Lower Silesian Heide and the Muskauer, Görlitzer and Saganer Heide and the Lausitzer Heights in the north were characterized by their extensive pine stands.
Pine dominates the Lower Silesian Heath, but there are also numerous varieties of oak, beech and other deciduous trees.
