Niels Scheuneman (born December 21, 1983 in Veendam ) is a former Dutch cyclist .
Niels Scheuneman was successful at the UCI Road World Championships 2001 in Lisbon . In the junior category, he finished third in the individual time trial and won silver in the road race. From 2002 he drove with Rabobank TT3 , the junior team of the professional team. In spring 2003 he won the U23 classification of the Lower Saxony Tour . At the World Championships in Hamilton he won silver in the U23 individual time trial. In the 2004 season he became a professional with the Spanish-Belgian cycling team Relax-Bodysol . After a year he moved back home to ProTeam Rabobank . At the end of April 2009 he surprisingly ended his career as a professional cyclist.
