Niep is a district of Neukirchen-Vluyn in the Wesel district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Niep has about 650 inhabitants and is located in the south of the city, between the neighboring towns of Hüls , Traar , Kapellen , Luit and Vluyn.

The formerly agricultural place is now a place of residence in the suburban area around Krefeld and Duisburg as well as a local recreation area. The Nieper Kuhlen , a 12 km long arm of the old Rhine , which used to be used for peat extraction and is now a nature reserve, are striking . In addition to agriculture, artisans and several traders also shaped the village, which until 1974 also had a train station. The former railway line from Moers to “Crefeld”, which led to an economic boom in Niep in the 19th century and was even used by Kaiser Wilhelm II , is now a cycle path. There is also a golf course in Niep .
