Nieuwerkerke (also called 't Schutje ) is a village that today belongs to the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland on the island of the same name in the Dutch province of Zeeland . It is located between Brouwershaven and Kerkwerve.

The village was first mentioned in 1298. The Gothic church of Nieuwerkerke was a subsidiary of Kerkwerve. Until 1813 Nieuwerkerke was an independent municipality, after which it was merged with Kerkwerve. The church was abandoned in the 18th century. The tower, initially preserved as a ruin, was demolished in 1820.

Nieuwerkerke should not be confused with Nieuwerkerk, a larger village on the island of Schouwen-Duiveland.
