Nifoxipam is a chemical compound from the benzodiazepine group and a metabolite of flunitrazepam . The compound has been marketed as a research chemical since 2014 .

Nifoxipam can be identified by gas chromatography with mass spectrometry coupling . The compound showed a tranquillizing (fight test) and a sleep-prolonging effect with a significantly lower toxicity than comparison substances.
