Nigel Pullman

Nigel Pullman (* 1947 ) is a former British Army officer and British journalist . He is one of the two sheriffs of the City of London for 2012/13.

biography

Pullman attended Sherborne School before going to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst .

In 1968 he was assigned to the Royal Corps of Signals and served in the Brigade of Gurkhas and from 1974 to 1975 with the United Nations on the occasion of the Turkish military intervention in Cyprus . Before the end of his military service, he was promoted to the rank of captain. He then joined the volunteer army of Inns of Court and City Yeomanry and left them in 1988 with the rank of major .

After Pullman left the army, he worked for the Financial Times from 1979 to 1996 and was then secretary with the Worshipful Company of World Traders from 1997 to 2008 . From 2010 to 2011 he was guild master of the Worshipful Company of Leathersellers and in 2012 was appointed one of the two sheriffs of the City of London for the years 2012/13.
