Liv Sprenger

Liv Sprenger (* 20th April 1936 in Brunegg as Liv Erlacher ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and housewife. From 1994 to 1999 she was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Sprenger attended the elementary school in Bludenz and then switched to the lower level of the high school in Bludenz. Between 1950 and 1952 she graduated from the commercial school (Institut St. Josef in Feldkirch) and between 1952 and 1955 she worked as a secretary for a lawyer in Bludenz. She then worked part-time for the Getzner company in Bludenz from 1956 to 1958 and also looked after the family between 1955 and 1957 after her mother's death. Sprenger has been a housewife since 1958.

Politics and functions

Sprenger joined the ÖVP and the Austrian Women's Association in 1955 and was deputy chairwoman and organizational officer of the Bludenz Women's Association until 1977. She was also the district chairwoman of the Bludenz women's association from 1977 to 1997, and from 1980 she was a member of the regional management of the Vorarlberg women's association. In addition, between 1984 and 1999, she was the deputy head of the Vorarlberg women's association. In the ÖVP she was active within the party as deputy city party leader of the ÖVP Bludenz and worked from 1978 as a member of the state party leadership of the ÖVP Vorarlberg and from 1980 as a member of the district party leadership of the ÖVP Bludenz. She was sworn in on October 4, 1994 as a member of the Bludenz constituency / constituency of Bludenz in the Vorarlberg state parliament and was a member of this until October 4, 1999. In the state parliament she functioned as a member of the culture committee, member of the social policy committee and member of the ombudsman committee.

In addition to her political activities, Sprenger was also involved in disaster relief for Austrian women, where she was, among other things, country manager and a member of the executive committee from 1982 to 2006. She was also a founding member and chairwoman of the osteoporosis self-help group Bludenz and active in the Vorarlberger Seniors' Association.

Private

Sprenger was born as the daughter of the physician Konrad Erlacher and his wife Maria Erlacher. Her father was born in Sand in Taufers , her mother in Brixen . In 1942 the family moved from Brunegg to Vorarlberg during the Second World War. Sprenger married the principal school director Kurt Sprenger in 1957 and had three children between 1958 and 1966.
