Nigel Seaton

Nigel Seaton is a British chemical engineer and has been the Rector of Abertay Dundee University in Scotland since August 2012 .

Life

Seaton is married with three children. He graduated from Edinburgh University with a bachelor's degree in 1982 . After receiving his doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania , he began his career as a scientist at the University of Cambridge . At Clare College he was employed as director of chemical engineering and natural sciences. After professorships at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Surrey , he has headed the University of Abertay Dundee since August 2012 . He caused a stir in 2011 when he publicly described in the Guardian the final assessments of the Bachelor's degree in Great Britain as often unfair to the students.
