Niklas Märkl (born March 3, 1999 in Queidersbach ) is a German racing cyclist .
Athletic career
As a junior driver, Märkl won the silver medal at the 2016 UCI Road World Championships in road races . In 2017 he became the German junior cyclocross champion . He finished fourth in the road race at the 2017 UCI Road World Championships .
In the adult sector, Märkl received a contract for Development Team Sunweb , a UCI Continental team, from 2018 . For this team he won the U23 one-day race Youngster Coast Challenge and the prologue of the elite stage race Istrian Spring Trophy in 2018 .
In August 2020 Märkl received a contract with the UCI WorldTeam Sunweb from the 2021 season.
