Niklas Nikolajsen

Niklas Nikolajsen (* 1975 ) is a Danish early adopter , investor and FinTech entrepreneur in the field of crypto currencies and crypto financing ( Bitcoin ). He has lived in Switzerland since 2011 .

Career

Nikolajsen, a graduate computer scientist, worked as a software architect and developer , in the later years of his career mainly in the financial sector.

In 2013 he co-founded Bitcoin Suisse AG , a (2016) leading broker , asset manager and financial service provider in the crypto finance sector, which he led as CEO until the end of 2017. With over 110 employees, Bitcoin Suisse AG is one of the largest companies in the crypto finance sector in Switzerland and Europe. Bitcoin Suisse AG is the payment terminal provider for the city ​​of Zug , the first public body worldwide to accept Bitcoin payments for public financial services . Nikolajsen has been Chairman of Bitcoin Suisse AG since 2018.

In 2014 he co-founded the Digital Finance Compliance Association, joined the board, promoted the Zug-based 'Crypto Valley' concept and worked together with the Swiss Financial Market Authority on the Swiss framework for digital finance and cryptocurrencies.

Since 2010 he has been a proponent of Bitcoin and Blockchain technology, especially in Switzerland.

In 2016 and 2018, the Swiss business magazine BILANZ listed him among the top 100 most influential Swiss bankers.

In 2018 Nikolajsen bought the Salesianum in Zug, a residence built in 1750 on the lake shore, which gave shelter to the author of the Swiss national anthem during a dispute with church officials in the 19th century. The chapel of St. Karl Borromeo belonging to the property will in future be made available as a publicly accessible museum. The Salesianum is one of the landmarks of Zug.
