Niklaus Dachselhofer (Schultheiss)
Niklaus Dachselhofer (born November 18, 1595 in Bern ; † February 12, 1670 in Bern) was the mayor of the city of Bern .
Niklaus Dachselhofer was a member of the Bernese Grand Council and Heimlicher from 1628, of the Small Council from 1629, and from 1630 to 1634 he was bailiff of Yverdon . In 1635 he became Deutschseckelmeister and from 1636 to 1667 he was alternating mayor of Bern. Dachselhofer headed the commissions to investigate the embezzlement of Seckelmeister Johann Frischherz (1639) and to clarify the background to the Thun uprising in 1641. During the Peasants 'War in 1653 he represented the local community in Langnau im Emmental without success for the authorities' positions.
