Niko Rukavina (born April 28, 1989 in Mississauga ) is a Canadian volleyball player .

Career

Rukavina first played ice hockey before switching to volleyball. He began his career in his hometown with Mississauga Pakmen. From 2007 to 2012, the Canadian, who is the son of a Slovenian mother and a Croatian father and who also has Slovenian citizenship because of his ancestors, received a scholarship as an athlete at Queen's University . During his studies he played in the university team of the Gaels. During a test game trip to Europe, he discovered his interest in this continent. Therefore, the outside attacker moved to the Swedish first division club Habo Volley in 2012 . In 2013 he was signed by the German Bundesliga club TV Rottenburg .
