They were relegated third from bottom and managed to return directly to the first division, where they finished seventh. In the 2009/10 season , coach Angstenberger's team reached its best position in the first division in fifth. In the play-off quarter-finals, Rottenburg received two 0-3 defeats against SCC Berlin . A year later, TVR, who had just qualified for the play-offs, was defeated by VfB Friedrichshafen in the quarter-finals . In 2011/12 they were only penultimate in tenth place.

DVV Cup

In the 2006/07 season, the Rottenburger eliminated in the round of 16 against the eventual winner Friedrichshafen. In 2008/09 they lost to Moerser SC in the quarterfinals . In the 2009/10 season they had to admit defeat in the semifinals to the later cup winner Generali Haching . At the same opponent they failed in the last sixteen 2010/11 . In 2011/12 they failed with 2: 3 against VC Gotha again in the second round.

European Cup

With fifth place in the Bundesliga in the 2009/10 season, the Rottenburg team qualified for the Challenge Cup for the first time . They each qualified with a victory in the decisive set against TSV Hartberg from Austria and the Czech opponent DHL Ostrava for the round of 16, in which they had no chance against the Russian representative Fakel Novy Urengoy .

organization

From 2008 to 2012 the Bundesliga volleyball team was called EnBW TV Rottenburg, after EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG was won as the main sponsor. Until the end of the 2017 season , the controversial Rottenburger Kopp Verlag was a sponsor of the Bundesliga volleyball team.

The managing director of TVR Volleyball GmbH, which organizes Bundesliga games, is Jörg Papenheim, who has been a manager at the club since 2005.

The club has played its home games since 2006 in the 3180-seat Paul Horn Arena (until 2007 “Sporthalle Europastrasse”, but better known as “TüArena”).
