Marius Riise (born April 22, 1974 ) is a former Norwegian handball player .
The 1.80 m tall left winger started the handball game at Nordstrand IF . The right-hander moved from Drammen HK to the German second division HSG Nordhorn . With the HSG, he immediately rose to the upper house and was runner-up in 2001. He then returned to Drammen for one season. From 2002 he played for the Spanish club BM Altea , with whom he was defeated by THW Kiel in the 2003/04 EHF Cup final . In 2005 he returned to Norway from Spain to Haslum HK and signed a three-year contract, but after just one season he temporarily ended his career. After a year break, he joined the second division side Bækkelagets SK / Nordstrand IF. Since 2010 he has been part of the Nordstrand coaching team.
In the Norwegian national team Marius Riise made his debut on March 1, 1997 against Egypt . He participated in the 1997 and 2005 World Championships . By 2005 he played 57 international matches in which he scored 142 goals.
