Nicodemus Kavikunua
Nicodemus Kavikunua († 12. June 1896 ) was from 1880 to 1896, a traditional leader of the Herero in the former German South West Africa . He was considered to be the leader of an uprising in Gobabis in March 1896 and was executed by the German occupying forces after a court martial in 1896 together with Kahimemua Nguvauva . Nicodemus Kavikunua's grave is in the Rhenish Mission Church in Okahandja , which is now a memorial to the annual Herero Day .
