Nikola Berković

Nikola Berković (born November 22, 1862 in Vrbovec , † November 25, 1943 in Sarajevo ) was a Croatian banker, economic functionary and member of parliament.

Nikola Berković studied in Graz . He became director of the first central bank in Bosnia, the National Bank of Bosnia-Herzegovina AG (1883-1894) and, in 1895, vice-president of the newly founded National Bank of Bosnia-Herzegovina in Sarajevo and its long-time managing director. In 1910 he was one of the founders of the Sarajevo Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was founding president. As such, he had a virile vote in the state parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina . There he was chairman of the budget committee. He is the author of several articles on banking and the economic situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
