Nikola Fink

Nikola Fink (born November 10, 1894 in Zagreb ; † November 1, 1968 there ) was a Yugoslav zoologist .

Life

He studied biology at the University of Zagreb and received his doctorate there in 1917. During a study visit to the University of Jena , he met Ernst Haeckel . After graduating, he worked as an assistant and lecturer at the University of Zagreb and curator at the Croatian Folk Museum .

From 1945 he was first associate professor, from 1946 full professor of zoology at the University of Zagreb. He was also director of the Zagreb Zoo from 1945 to 1950 . In 1965 he retired .

Nikola Fink wrote several articles for the 1st edition of the Croatian Encyclopedia .
