Nikolai Alexandrowitsch Mitrochin ( Russian: Николай Александрович Митрохин ; born September 13, 1972 in Moscow ) is a Russian journalist and historian .

Career

After his graduation in 2002 at the Russian State University for the Humanities at the Chair of Contemporary History in Russia, Mitrokhin was from 1999 to 2005 a research assistant at the Human Rights Center of " Memorial " in Moscow. From 2005 to 2008 he was a German Chancellor Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and a fellow of the Gerda Henkel Foundation in Berlin. From 2008 to 2014 he was and since 2018 he has been a research assistant at the Research Center for Eastern Europe at the University of Bremen.
