Nikolai Dmitrievich Smirnov

Nikolai Dmitrijewitsch Smirnow ( Russian: Николай Дмитриевич Смирнов ; born October 26, 1949 ) is a Russian ambassador .

Life

In 1972 he graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and entered the foreign service.

From 1993 to 1998 he was Consul General in Montréal . From 1999 to 2002 he was Deputy Head of the North America Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation . From 2002 to 2007 he was Consul General in Toronto . From 2007 to 2011 he held the post of Deputy Head of the Department for North America in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation .

On March 1, 2011, he was appointed Ambassador to Georgetown by Decree 255. During 2011, he was also appointed to the Embassy Offices in Kingstown , St. George’s , Port of Spain and Bridgetown , which are regularly associated with this official residence .
