Nikolai Nikolajewitsch Nossow
Nikolay Nosov ( Russian Николай Николаевич Носов ; born November 10 . Jul / 23. November 1908 greg. In Kiev ; † 26. July 1976 in Moscow ) was a Soviet children's writer and director.
Life
Born the son of an actor, he went to seven-grade school. At the age of 19 he began to study at an art institute in Kiev, but later switched to the Faculty of Directing at the State Institute for Cinematic Art in Moscow, where he graduated in 1932. He then worked as a director for about twenty years. During the years of World War II (the Great Patriotic War ), he was awarded the Order of the Red Star for a film series dealing with war technology.
Nossow made his literary debut in 1938 in the children's magazine Mursilka (Мурзилка). He became known with the 1951 children's book Витя Малеев в школе и дома ( Vitja Malejew at school and at home), which was filmed in 1954 under the title Два друга (Two Friends) by Viktor Eisymont .
Nikolai Nossow became internationally known and popular with his children's books about the little boy Nimmerklug and his friends. They appeared in several languages and are still known today.
