Nikolas Ledgerwood (born January 16, 1985 in Lethbridge , Alberta ) is a Canadian football player who is currently under contract with Edmonton FC .
society
Ledgerwood moved from Calgary Storm to TSV 1860 Munich on July 1, 2003 . There he played first with the juniors and in the second team in the Regionalliga Süd. In early 2006 Ledgerwood moved up to the professional squad.
After a long injury break, he was loaned to the league competitor Wacker Burghausen in early 2007 until the end of the season, where he was used 15 times and scored one goal. At the same time, his contract with the sixties was extended until 2009. From the summer of 2007 until the end of his contract, Ledgerwood played again with the Lions . During his time in Munich, he made a total of 52 appearances in the U23, where he scored a goal, and 32 games in the first team, where he also scored a goal.
In the summer of 2009 Ledgerwood moved to the second division FSV Frankfurt , where he signed a one-year contract with an option for another year. After the defensive midfielder's rather moderate performance in his first games for the Bornheimer, Ledgerwood had to pause for several weeks because of an inner ligament that he suffered during the game in St. Pauli and only came to further missions at the end of the first half of the season. After the winter break he was in the FSV's starting line-up several times , after Mehić and Lagerblom, both regular forces for the "six" position, were injured. At the away game in Kaiserslautern on March 6th, Ledgerwood scored his first goal for FSV with a header - according to his own statement, the first header of his career. On July 12, 2010 he signed a contract with third division club SV Wehen Wiesbaden . There he established himself in the defensive midfield and was used regularly in his first year. At the beginning of May 2012, Wehen announced that Ledgerwood's contract would no longer be renewed and that it would no longer appear for the club in the 2012/13 season.
In mid-July 2012 Ledgerwood was committed by the Swedish second division club Hammarby IF . He signed a contract until the end of December 2013.
After being out of a club in December 2013, he moved to MSV Duisburg in January 2014 and signed a contract until June 30, 2014.
In July 2014, he signed a contract with the then relegated Energie Cottbus association until June 2016, which was terminated on December 31, 2015.
In January 2016, he returned to Canada to NASL club Edmonton FC .
National team
He made his international debut in the Canadian senior team on August 22, 2007 in the game against Iceland 1-1. In 2003 and 2005 he was part of the squad of the Canadian U-20 selection at the World Championships in the United Arab Emirates and the Netherlands.
