Nicholas I (Ebrach)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nicholas I († 1271 ) was abbot of the Cistercian monastery in Ebrach from 1262 until his resignation in 1271 .

Life

Very little is known about the life of Abbot Nicholas. He was probably born in the Franconian region at the beginning of the 13th century . The parents of the future abbot are not mentioned in the sources, and any siblings are unknown. Nicholas I was first handed down as abbot of Ebrach in 1269, but he has probably been the prelate of the monastery since 1262 . In 1269 he bought several goods from Eberhard von Tunnefeld. A year earlier he had received goods from Eberhard von Schaumberg . Nicholas resigned in 1271 and died that same year.
