Nikolay Tzvetkov

Nikolay Tzvetkov is a French mathematician who studies nonlinear partial differential equations. He is a professor at Cergy-Pontoise University .

Tzvetkov received his doctorate in 1999 from the University of Paris XI under Jean-Claude Saut ( Sur leproblemème de Cauchy pour des équations de type KP ).

He worked with Nicolas Burq and Patrick Gérard , among others, and dealt with the non-linear Schrödinger equation, (soliton) equations for water waves, the KP equation and the Burgers equation. Among other things, he worked with Burq on wave equations with randomly chosen initial conditions.

He should not be confused with the Russian oligarch Nikolai Tsvetkov (* 1960) or the Bulgarian soccer player of the same name.
