Sjökullen stone chest
The stone box of Sjökullen ( Swedish Hällkista i Sjökullen ) in Upphärad in the municipality of Trollhättan in Västergötland in Sweden is a Bronze Age megalithic stone box that is located west of Asakavvägen, about 6 km from the center of Upphärad, directly on the road, in a mound of earth.
The stone box , which was used as a cellar between 1830 and 1920, has been partially removed so that its former access (presumably through a soul hole ) no longer exists and its current access is horizontal. Of unknown causes some stone boxes missing the end block the access side, indicating grave robbery or illegal excavation points. The Sjökullen stone box consists of large side panels, the northern end panel, which has been raised with two rows of stones, and a rustic cantilever vault over the entire length.
