The Z 50 is a mirrorless system camera housing with an image sensor in Nikon's own DX format: 23.5 mm × 15.7 mm with 5568 × 3712 pixels and thus 20.9 megapixels . It is the third Nikon camera to be equipped with the Z-bayonet and takes eleven images per second. Like the Z6 or Z7, the Z50 has a relatively large tiltable touchscreen. It also has 20 in-camera effects for photos and videos, as well as an auto-eye focus.

The video functions are possible in a resolution of up to 4K / UHD with 30p, the slow-motion sequences are still possible in Full HD .

At the same time, two lenses for the Z bayonet and DX format were presented. The FTZ lens adapter can also be used.

Awards

The camera body was named the best advanced APS-C single lens reflex camera body by the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) in 2020 .
