Nikoxenos painter
The Nikoxenos painter named with the emergency name was an Attic vase painter of the black and red figure style .
The Nikoxenos Painter was one of the few painters who apparently worked in both major color styles of their own accord. He paints amphorae and pelicas in the black-figure style, which is strongly reminiscent of the works of the Leagros group . Its hydria ( calpids with a continuous profile) are already in the tradition of the new style. The Nikoxenos painter worked better in black than red-figure style. His pupil was the Eucharides painter , there are also theories that both painters were the same person. The painter's works are dated to the end of the 6th and the beginning of the 5th century BC. Dated.
