Nina Nikolayevna Watolina

Nina Nikolayevna Watolina ( Russian Нина Николаевна Ватолина ; born March 6 . Jul / 19th March  1915 greg. In Kolomna , Russian Empire ; † 12. August 2002 in Moscow , Russia ) was a Soviet poster artist.

Some of the most famous agitation posters of the German-Soviet war were created by Nina Watolina. In 1941, together with her then husband Nikolai Denisov , she created the very popular poster “Ne boltaj!” (“Don't talk!”). It is provided with lines from a poem by Samuil Marschak : "Be on your guard - // these days // even walls have ears, // it's not far from chatter // and rumor // to betrayal."
