Niran Peiris

Niran Peiris (born July 28, 1961 in Colombo , Sri Lanka ) is a member of the Board of Management of Allianz SE and responsible for Global Insurance Lines & Anglo Markets, Reinsurance, Middle East, Africa.

Education and professional career

Peiris studied at Sydney University , where he is doing his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Economics. He is also an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA).

His professional career began in 1985 as a tax advisor at Coopers & Lybrand in Sydney . From 1987 Peiris was Head of Tax Advisory at Bird Cameron Chartered Accountants. In 1988 he moved to FAI Insurance Group, where he was responsible as Group Taxation Manager. There he became Financial Controller Corporate in 1992. In 1995 he became Group Financial Controller and in 1999 General Manager Finance & Administration at QBE Insurance Australia Ltd. In 2000 Peiris moved to Allianz Australia Ltd, where he worked as General Manager Finance.

He became CFO of Allianz Australia Ltd in 2002, before becoming Chief General Manager Private Customers and CEO in 2009. From 2013 to 2017, Peiris was Managing Director of Allianz Australia Ltd in Sydney.

He has been a member of the Board of Management of Allianz SE since January 1, 2018.

Peiris got a salary of 2.143 million euros in 2019. In 2018 it was 2.980 million euros.
