Gamla Hjälmseryd Church

As Njudungskirchen a group of churches in Sweden referred to in Njudung , one of the later Småland , belonging to so-called small countries in the Middle Ages were built during the 12th century.

A total of nine churches are counted among the Njudungskirchen. All the churches were built in stone in the Romanesque style and are located in what is now the municipality of Sävsjö and Vetlanda . It is believed that these churches were built by stone masons who were also involved in the construction of Lund Cathedral .

The New Churches are the Old Church of Lannaskede , the Old Church of Myresjö , the Church of Nävelsjö , the Church of Näsby , the Church of Gamla Hjälmseryd , the Church of Hjärtlanda , the Church of Hylletofta , the Church of Norra Ljunga and the old church of Vallsjö .
