The No. 1 Court is the second largest tennis court at the Wimbledon Championships in London , England . The owner is the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club .
Age No. 1 Court
The old square was built in 1928 on the west side of Center Court and offered 7,328 spectators. As a result of the new building, the old square was demolished. Today there are z. B. a Wimbledon shop or the Wingfield restaurant .
New No. 1 Court
In 1997 the new No. 1 court on the north side of the Center Court completed. It has a capacity of 11,429 seats. In April 2013 the All England Club confirmed their intention to build a lockable roof over the court. Completion is scheduled for 2019.
