idea

According to the developers, the idea arose during a visit to the bar when it became apparent that the guests were more concerned with their smartphones than with their fellow human beings. Originally intended as a satire , the NoPhone smartphone addicts should help to free themselves from their addiction by not being able to use the functions of the device, but still having the feeling of holding a smartphone in their hand.

Financing model: crowdfunding

The NoPhone was developed by The NoPhone Team from New York . Crowdfunding was used for financing via the Kickstarter.com website . Required was $ 5,000 ; however, it raised more than $ 18,000 in one month, involving 915 people.
