Nobuhiro Yamashita
Nobuhiro Yamashita ( Japanese 山下 敦 弘 , Yamashita Nobuhiro ; born August 29, 1976 in Aichi Prefecture ) is a Japanese film director .
Career
Yamashita attended the Osaka University of Arts , where he worked on the film Kichiku Dai Enkai (1997) by Kazuyoshi Kumakiri . His graduation film Donten seikatsu took part in the Off Theater Competition Grand Prize of the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival in 2000 .
In 2007 he won the award for best director at the 32nd Hochi Film Award for his films Tennen Kokekkō and Matsugane ransha jiken . He often works with screenwriter Kōsuke Mukai , with whom he was nominated for Best Screenplay for Linda Linda at the Independent Film - Chlotrudis Awards 2008 . The title of this film goes back to a song by the Japanese punk band The Blue Hearts from 1987 and is about a Japanese high school girls band, with a Korean exchange student as the singer who rehearses this and other pieces of the band.
