Nobuyuki Baba

Nobuyuki Baba ( Japanese 馬 場 伸 幸 , Baba Nobuyuki ; born January 27, 1965 in Sakai , Osaka Prefecture ) is a Japanese politician ( LDPNippon- / Ōsaka IshinIshinNippon- / Ōsaka Ishin ), member of the Shūgiin , the lower house of the national parliament , for the constituency of Osaka 17 and general secretary of his party.

Life

Baba was born on January 27, 1965 in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, and after graduating from high school, she worked for the family restaurant chain "Royal Host". In 1986 he became secretary of the later Foreign Minister and LDP - Upper House MP Taro Nakayama and in 1993 ran successfully for the LDP in a by-election to the city parliament of Sakai. He was then re-elected six times until 2012 and was also President of Parliament from 2011 to 2012. In 2010 he left the LDP and took part in the founding of the "political group" Ōsaka Ishin no Kai (about "Assembly for the Renewal of Osaka") from then governor Tōru Hashimoto . In 2011, Baba was appointed vice chairman of the Ōsaka Ishin no Kai.

Shortly before the 2012 general election , he resigned as a member of the city parliament and ran for the Nippon Ishin no Kai national party in the 17th constituency of Osaka, which includes his hometown of Sakai. He prevailed with 44.2% of the votes cast against five other candidates from the LDP, DPJ , KPJ , Mirai and an independent. 2014 he joined the the merger of Japan Restoration Party and Yui no Tō incurred Ishin no Tō and was in the general election in December reelected. He was then appointed chairman of the party's Political Research Council (PARC). Due to the internal party disputes over the positioning of the party in relation to the national LDP of Shinzō Abe , Baba resigned as PARC chairman in August 2015.

When the party split in October 2015, he was excluded from Ishin no Tō by party chairman Yorihisa Matsuno due to his involvement in the founding of the saka Ishin no Kai . In December 2015, Baba was appointed General Secretary of the new Ōsaka Ishin no Kai and also holds this office in the new national Nippon Ishin no Kai, which was created in August 2016 through the renaming of the Ōsaka Ishin no Kai . In the 2017 general election he was able to defend his constituency and was re-elected with 43.5% of the vote.
