Nodi lymphoidei pancreaticoduodenales inferiores

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nodi lymphoidei [Nll.] Pancreaticoduodenales inferiores ( Latin for 'lower pancreas-duodenal lymph nodes') are a group of lymph nodes in the abdomen . They lie at the lower edge of the back of the pancreas on the inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery and belong to the Nll. pancreaticoduodenales superiores and the Nll. lymphoidei pancreatici to the peripancreatic lymph nodes.

The Nll. pancreaticoduodenales inferiores receive lymph from the head of the pancreas. Their efferent lymph vessels flow directly or indirectly via the upper mesenteric lymph nodes into the intestinal trunk . They also receive lymph from the lower section of the duodenum and channel it into the intestinal trunk.
