Nodi lymphoidei pancreaticoduodenales superiores

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nodi lymphoidei [Nll.] Pancreaticoduodenales superiores ( Latin for 'upper pancreas-duodenal lymph nodes') is a group of lymph nodes in the abdomen . They lie at the top of the back of the pancreas on the superior pancreaticoduodenal artery , a branch of the gastroduodenal artery .

The Nll. pancreaticoduodenales superiores receive lymph from the head of the pancreas. Their efferent lymph vessels flow directly or indirectly via the upper mesenteric lymph nodes into the intestinal trunk . They also receive lymph from the upper part of the duodenum and pass it through the liver lymph nodes or the NII. preaortici to the intestinal trunk.
