Beatrix Kania

Beatrix Christina Kania (born in Nuremberg ) is a German diplomat who was accredited as the German ambassador in Tegucigalpa ( Honduras ) from September 2014 to August 2017 .

Life

After graduating from high school, Kania completed a degree in administrative sciences, political sciences, history and law in Erlangen , Bonn and Hagen , which she completed with a Magister Artium (MA), followed by a career examination for the higher foreign service. She is married.

After joining the diplomatic service in 1988, he was employed in The Hague , at the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in New York , at the Foreign Office and at the Permanent Mission of Germany to NATO . Afterwards Kania was a consultant in the international staff of NATO in Brussels and political advisor to the commander of KFOR in Pristina in Kosovo . This was followed by an assignment as a consultant at the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United Nations in New York. From 2008 to 2010 Kania was Permanent Representative of the Ambassador to Kuwait and from 2010 to 2013 Deputy Head of Division in the Foreign Office (Department for United Nations and Global Issues). Kania then worked for a year as a political advisor at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ankara . From September 2014 to August 2017 Beatrix Kania was the German ambassador to Honduras. Kania is currently Chief of Protocol at the United Nations in New York.
