Noho-jima ( Japanese 野 甫 島 ) is an island of the Japanese Okinawa Islands of the Ryūkyū island chain .
geography
It has an area of 1.08 km² and is connected to the island of Iheya-jima, 280 meters away, by a 680-meter-long bridge. On the island is the district of Noho of the municipality ( mura , "village") Iheya of Okinawa Prefecture . As of January 1, 2015, there were 104 people in 49 households on the island.
Noho-jima is an upscale coral island with a flat surface. The main economic sector is agriculture, especially sugar cane cultivation.
